Don started homebrewing using Mr. Beer equipment and ingredients sometime before May of 2005 (the earliest date for which he has kept records).  Then in August of 2007 he brewed his first five gallon batch using bulk ingredients from Hops and Berries.  A typical batch made by Don starts with liquid malt extract with a couple of pounds of specialty grains and is fermented using liquid, pitchable White Labs yeast.  He often ferments three our four batches using the same yeast (from the same White Labs vial).  If you're interested in home-brewing and would like to follow a batch from start to finish send Don a note here.
